Matt Leitner of Los Alamitos scored the game-winning goal to lift the U.S. Junior Select Team over Canada West, 2-1, to capture the World Junior A Challenge on Sunday in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
Leitner beat the goaltender five-hole while falling to the ice just 50 seconds into the third period.
The U.S. went 4-0-1 in the tournament.
