Devils 3, Ducks 1

David Clarkson and Zach Parise scored second period goals as New Jersey defeated the Ducks, 3-1, on Wednesday at Prudential Center.

New Jersey won its sixth straight game while the Ducks dropped the first game of a four-game road trip.

Parise banged in his own rebound for a shorthanded goal to make it 3-1 with only 12 seconds remaining in the second. Clarkson scored the go-ahead goal on a wrist shot at 12:52.

Corey Perry scored for the Ducks early in the second period when he flicked in a loose puck into an open net.

Jamie Langenbrunner deflected a shot by Andy Greene for a goal just 38 seconds into the game.

Perry extended his points streak to a career-high nine games, and Ryan Getzlaf extended his assists streak to a career-high nine games.

Martin Brodeur made 31 saves.
