Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger lays out the possibility of Ducks captain Scott Niedermayer returning to the New Jersey Devils if the Ducks fall out of playoff contention and need to start rebuilding at the trade deadline.
Niedermayer won three Stanley Cups with the Devils before signing with the Ducks in 2005. His brother, Rob, signed a one-year, $1-million deal with New Jersey in September after spending the last six seasons with the Ducks. The two won the Cup together with Anaheim in 2007.
There are interesting comments made by Niedermayer in the article but there’s one thought to this. Why would the prized defenseman be eager to leave after signing with the Ducks this off-season without seriously considering any other offers?
Just asking.
