The Western Surfing Association will be setting up shop down south this weekend. The fifth stop of the 2009/2010 WSA Gatorade Championship Tour event takes place on the northside of the San Clemente Pier.
The two day competition is likely to bring out a few hundred amateur surfers from up and down the California Coast.
Some of the regular WSA Orange County competitors includes: Huntington Beach super grom Kanoa Igarashi, Meah Collins the daughter of former ASP WCT surfer Richie Collins, Rick Fignetti, aka Rockin Fig and Seal Beach local and shaper Chas Wickwire.
The WSA offers several divisions for surfers of all ages including: Boys, Girls, Longboard, Men’s, Masters, Senior Men’s, Legends 50 and older, Women and Senior Women’s. The WSA contests typically start about 7 a.m and wrap up about 5 p.m. each day. For more info. and heat times, check out wsasurf.org.
