If you’re looking to make more surf friends, head down to Sunset Beach on Saturday to join the group “Tribal Surf” for their end of summer outing.
If you haven’t seen the Web site Tribal Surf, take a few minutes to check it out. The guy who runs it, Rob Rama (Seal Beach local), does really interesting features onlocal surfers who are doing extraordinary things.
The Web site has a forum where surfers discuss various topics, and they’ve had a few get togethers through the summer. Here’s more info from the site about the Sunset surf session:
“The wave here is mellow enough for beginners but can be fast enough for shortboards and there’s usually always something to surf. The paddle out is pretty easy too. There are showers and bathrooms. Parking is free but it can fill up so unless you want to walk a bit, try to get there early.”
When:Saturday, September 26, 8:00-ish (earlier the better and leave whenever – hey that rhymes)
Where:Sunset Beach (just north of Bolsa Chica in Huntington Beach)
What to Bring: A surfboard would be good. Food if you want but there is a Jack in the Box walking distance from the beach and their breakfast burritos are freeging awesome.
Directions:
Warner Ave. and PCH
There’s free parking behind that Jack in the Box (behind it, not at it). If those two lots are full, just drive up either side of the streets (away from Bolsa Chica) and there will be more free parking.
