Merrry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all you surfers out there. Unfortunately there’s not much in the way of waves this morning. Overall most Orange County beaches are pretty small, so if you’re planning on riding that new shortboard Santa brought you, you’re going to have to do a little driving to find a wave worthwhile.
However, if Mr. Clause brought you a log or a standup paddle board, then definitely get out there and give it go. And if you picked up a new wetsuit you’ll definitely want to break that thing in. The water temperature along most of the Orange County Coast is averaging between 56 and 58 degrees.
Meanwhile, Surfline is calling for a new dose of west northwest swell to begin filling in on Saturday with surf in the knee to chest high range with a few plus sets. Then on Sunday the swell is expected to peak with the top spots seeing surf in the head high to overhead plus range.
