It seems you don’t find many people in the lineup these days riding kneeboards, but back in the 70’s and 80’s there were a lot more of these guys riding waves.
Well if you are a kneeboarder or knew someone who did it back in the day, then listen to this. Huntington Beach will be hosting the 2010 Kneeboard Surfing U.S.A. Titles and Kneeboard Festival next month.
The top 64 kneeboarders in the U.S. will compete in the Open division. The contest will also include a Junior’s division for those under 21 and a Women’s division.
Some of the notable names expected to compete in the big event include: legendary kneeboarder Bill Sharp, Bill Lerner and former U.S. Champs Phil Fein and Chris Conceico.
The 2010 Kneeboard Surfing U.S.A. Titles is open to the public. The event is scheduled to run from 7 a.m to 2 p.m each day depending on the waves and the weather. For more info. check out ksusa.org.
