Major Anaheim convention set to renew contract

The Natural Products Expo West kicked off its event Thursday in Anaheim for the 30th year — and it is set to be back at least three more times.

On Friday, the expo, the second largest annual event at the Anaheim Convention Center, is set to sign a lease to return back each year through 2013, said Elaine Cali, a spokeswoman for the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau. The expo is expected to draw about 50,000 people this year

The trade expo features organic and natural products, ranging from toddler snacks to energy drinks.

The Anaheim Convention Center sits across the street from the Disneyland Resort.
