Trip Report: Stinger loses orange at California Adventure

The Orange Stinger is no more — it recently lost the spinning center and is now merely a circular platform.  The Orange Stinger is undergoing its transformation to the new Silly Symphony swings attraction, featuring characters from the first colorized Mickey Mouse cartoon, “The Band Concert,” from 1935. Among the changes to the attraction will be a covered queue with twinkling lights and a shady pavilion underneath and a Mickey figure on top of the attraction.  The ride will create the illusion of guests swinging out over the water. Silly Symphony Swings ride is set to open in spring 2010.

The Taste Pilots Grill at Disney’s California Adventure has removed waffle fries from its menu.  Guests now receive generic French fries.

Here are a few more shots of the continuing progress on the California Adventure expansion.
