The government of Hong Kong has reached a deal with the Walt Disney Co. to expand the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
A report from the Hong Kong Economic Times stated that the deal was expected to be worth as much as HK$7 billion. About HK$4 billion (about 516 million US dollars) would be sunk into the underperforming Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to bolster the struggling theme park against a rival park scheduled to be built in Shanghai in mainland China to be opened in 2014.
The agreement is expected to be released to local Hong Kong legislators by June 30.
