A new Disney Store is slated to open in September at The Shops at Mission Viejo, reports OC Retail blogger Hang Nguyen.
The store will take on a new interactive format, including films, entertainment, smell-themed areas and play spots, said Sara Leeper, a Disney Store spokeswoman. The concept was revealed late last year and is now being rolled out in the United States and Europe.
The first Southern California store with the revamped feel is set to open June 29 at The Shops of Montebello in Montebello, which is about 22 miles northwest of Disneyland in Anaheim.
The Montebello location will incorporate a Disney Princess “neighborhood” and a first-of-its-kind area based on the movie, “Cars.”
