For those of you who planned on volunteering to earn a free Disney park ticket, you are out of luck.
It’s too late.
On Tuesday, Disney announced that it reached its goal of recruiting 1 million volunteers, who are earning free U.S. Disney park passes for volunteering for a shift with an accepted non-profit group. Registration was closed today, the company announced on the Disney Parks blog.
Prospective volunteers who already signed up to do a shift can still earn a free ticket, but the program is no longer accepting new volunteers.
The parks include Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure.
Disney’s Give a Day, Get a Disney Day program opened up registration on Jan. 1. The company reached its goal just 10 weeks later. The HandsOn Network ran the volunteer program, offering opportunities ranging from after-school sessions to library help.
In Orange County, 8,900 volunteers had signed up for service as of late February.
