Throughout the holiday season, employees at the Disneyland Resort have raised money for local food and toy drives, families, and military servicemen and women.
Among the activities that Disney participated in included hosting a holiday party at CHOC Children’s Hospital, sending 2,000 military care packages and postcards to military personnel around the world through Operation Uplift and providing 150,000 meals through the Orange County Food Bank.
Some of their efforts have been Disney traditions for years, such as Disney’s toy drive, a tradition that was started by Walt Disney 62 years ago. The Resort collected 10,000 toys during this year’s drive.
“The Disneyland Resort has a long history of giving back to the community, and the generosity of our Cast Members continues to amaze me,” Disneyland Resort President George A. Kalogridis said in a press release. “By contributing food, toys, clothes, time and energy, our Cast Members are creating special holiday memories both inside our Parks and beyond.”
